The Cozy team wants people to take back control of their data, but we know this is just a part of a larger goal, which is building a decentralized Internet. In order to achieve this, we want to help the many projects around a decentralized Internet to connect and cross-pollinize. This is why I have joined forces with Julien Rabier — who’s involved with DIY ISPs — to be a part of FOSDEM in 2017 (to be held in Brussels on February 4th and 5th).
In order for this event to be successful, we need the participation of libre and open source projects that are related to the decentralized Internet.
The details on how to participate are listed in the call for papers, but please note that the deadline for requesting to participate is December 4th, 2016. Speakers will be notified whether they’re accepted or not on December 11th 2016.
If you’re involved in Internet decentralization, Community-driven networks, DIY access providers, Self-hosting software and distributions, Software aimed at keeping control over personal data, Community-hosted alternatives to GAFAs, please respond to the call for papers and see you in Brussels!
